Changes in the body and the brain including sensory capacities. organic an nervous systems, health and fitness and motor skills are all parts of physical development. To some extent physical development may be genetically programmed. This in mental functioning such as memory, intelligence, practical problem solving, moral reasoning and wisdom are aspect of intellectual or cognitive development. Personality development involves the unique way each person deals with the world and expresses thoughts and emotions.

Personalities development deals with the unique way the individual deals with the world and express his thought and emotions, Social development refers to the changes in an individuals social world, The world of relationships, Living arrangements,Work and pleasure.

Periods Of Adulthood

The demacation of periods of the life span varies in different times and different societies. Most research divide adulthood into 3 periods. Young adulthood, Middle-age adulthood and late adulthood.

  • Young Adulthood (20-40 years) : Young adults are generally at the height of their physical powers and many aspects of their intellectual powers. During these years, they make career choices and form intimate relationships that may be life long . In young adults, most people marry and most also become parents.
  • Middle-age Adulthood (40-65years) : Middle-age adults typically see some decline in health and physical abilities, But develop more mature patterns of thinking based on practical experience, Some middle age people are at the height of their careers, Others have reached dead-ends, Some pursue new goals.
